Biography
Paula Ann Miller began her career at Coopers & Lybrand, currently PwC, and has accumulated thirty years’ experience in financial consulting for law firms, private industry, and fortune 500 companies. Miller founded P. A. Miller Consulting, Inc. (PAMC) in 1995 and continues to serve as President and CEO with offices in Houston and NYC. PAMC is a certified woman-owned business through the WBENC. Miller served on the Advisory Board of Directors for BBVA USA and remained on the board through the acquisition by PNC. Miller has been named one of Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women by Houston Woman Magazine for her leadership in business and the community.
Miller is a strong business leader with deep knowledge in strategic planning, finance, accounting, audit (forensic), due diligence, governance, compliance, cybersecurity and restructuring across many industries. The breadth and depth of her extensive experience across industries, and with both for-profit and not-for-profit entities, yields a comprehensive understanding of the critical issues routinely addressed by a Board of Directors.
Miller has performed due diligence in acquisitions exceeding $10B in the energy space, developed internal policies and guidelines for Fortune 500 companies, worked on FCPA claims in various phases with the DOJ and SEC, acted as manager for LLC managing assets for global investment firm, and continues to provide expert testimony in all types of litigation involving accounting reconstruction, forensic accounting, lost profit analysis, financial modeling, forensic investigations/audits/review, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), due diligence, valuation analysis, financial compliance with contract, merger and acquisition analysis, and claims preparation and review.
Miller graduated from the Owner President Management (OPM) Program at Harvard Business School. Prior to attending HBS, Miller graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and a Master of Science (MS) in Accounting and Tax. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Houston, earning a BS in Pre-Law and Criminal Justice.
Miller is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and completed the Corporate Director Certificate program at Harvard Business School and the Director’ Consortium program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. She
earned a certificate in Business Valuations, and Cybersecurity from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and a Compliance & Ethics Professional member.
Miller is a native Houstonian and has a passion for serving her community and the State of Texas. As an appointee of Governor Rick Perry, she served on the Board of Directors (TBAE) for the State of Texas. Miller continued serving on the Board of Directors under the leadership of Governor Greg Abbott. During her term on the Board, she served on the Executive Committee, as Chair of the Budget Committee, a member of the Compensation Committee, acting board Secretary, and was selected as a Mediation Delegate for the State of Texas. As an active member of her alumni associations, Miller was elected to the Board of Directors for the Harvard Business School Club of Houston and served as President for The Woodlands Chapter and served on the Board of Directors for the Harvard University Club of Houston. Miller served on the Board of Trustees for the Houston Ballet, Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Finance Committee for the Alley Theatre, and Board of Directors for the Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts.
Miller currently serves on the Board of Directors and Governance Committee for the World Affairs Council. She remains active and engaged in the Arts and her church community.
