Global Connections is an opportunity for our members and any career professionals in the Greater Houston area, who are interested in furthering their understanding of international events and issues as well as expanding their global connections.
Global Connections events are informal and emphasize discussion and dialogue in a community of like-minded career professionals. As a global city, Houston is the ideal location to develop international contacts and network with other professionals across the region.
About The Speaker
Ryan Gorczycki is a member and prior president of the Gulf Coast Council of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, the Peace Corps alumni group representing the Houston region.
Ryan served as a Peace Corps health volunteer in the country of Madagascar from 2007 to 2009, having the opportunity to return in 2019 (photo shown). Ryan will present on the work of the local Peace Corps alumni group in Houston, the work of the Peace Corps, and life as a volunteer in the country of Madagascar.
For his day job, Ryan works as a clinical nutrition manager at Harris Health System, the public healthcare system for Harris county, where he and his co-workers work to serve the diverse local population of the Houston area.
Ryan Gorczycki attended the University of Minnesota, where he graduated with a degree in Nutrition. He later obtained a Master of Public Policy from Duke University, where he spent a summer as a professional practice volunteer at the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) regional office in Santiago, Chile.
