The Global Young Professionals (GYP) Mentorship program

The Global Young Professionals (GYP) Mentorship Program aims to connect young professionals in the local workforce with globally minded professionals and executives who provide support, leadership, and counsel through meetings, virtual sessions, shadowing, & projects. Mentees will come away with a better understanding, connection, and knowledge about their industries while obtaining an understanding of global issues and world affairs.

Mentee Expectations and Requirements

  • Mentees must have a current membership with the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston upon application
  • Mentees must be available to meet their mentor and maintain an agreed upon schedule
  • Mentees must have obtained at least one(1) year of post-graduate experience
  • Mentees must attend at least three(3) WACGH programs throughout the program
  • Mentees must complete an evaluation and exit statement upon completion
  • Mentees must maintain the spirit of being open to learning, growth, and development

Mentee Application process

  • Submit a GYP Mentee application
  • Submit CV / Resume
  • Submit 1 personal and 1 professional reference
