This edition of Wine & Wisdom we are presenting: Global Trivia, where geography, history, and global affairs come together in four rounds that reward curiosity more than perfection, and make learning about the world way more entertaining.
The Rounds:
Flags of the World – Can you tell your Nordic crosses from your Pan-African stripes? We’ll find out.
The 1980s – The decade that gave us glasnost, Live Aid, and some truly questionable fashion. How well do you really remember it?
Places that Begin with ‘S’ – Seoul to Stockholm, Senegal to the Solomon Islands. Geography gets specific (and tricky).
Sports Diplomacy – Where the playing field becomes a battlefield for politics, power, and national pride. Ping-pong, anyone?
What You’re Getting:
Wine flowing throughout, because trivia is better with a glass in hand! Fierce but friendly competition with prizes for the winning team. A room full of globally curious people who actually know (or really want to know) what’s happening beyond their newsfeed.
The Fine Print:
Teams of 3. Come solo and we’ll match you with fellow trivia warriors. No studying required, but general awareness of the world you live in definitely helps. Prizes go to the winners. Bragging rights are eternal.
Hosted by Ethan Eyre, he serves as Director of Education at the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston, where he leads initiatives that connect students and educators to global issues through programs, competitions, and international learning experiences. His work helps cultivate the next generation of globally minded Houstonians by bringing world affairs out of the abstract and into the classroom. For one night only, he trades lesson plans for trivia questions as host where he will be guiding the room with curiosity, energy, and just enough competitive spirit to make you feel wise (enough).
