Scott joined Hanwha in Sept 2023 as their CTO/VP Technical for Hanwha Drilling. He is responsible for all technical aspects of the newly formed drilling company and is also leading the design of new technologically advanced vessels as his team brings operational experience to Hanwha’s strong Shipbuilding business. Before joining Hanwha Scott worked for 23 years at Transocean. Starting his career in the North Sea and GOM as a Drilling Engineer before taking on shore-based Rig Management roles that took him to Houston and Brazil. As his operational responsibilities expanded, he took Divisional leadership roles in Canada and Angola. The downturn in the industry brought him back to Houston where he led Transocean’s Technical Supply Chain, forming many long-term strategic partnerships, followed by setting up their OT Digitization group and lasty leading the companies Technology efforts with projects focused on automation and emission reduction.
Scott graduated from the University of Aberdeen with BEng (hons) in Mechanical Engineering and completed and Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School.
