About the Event
Just because the World Cup is over doesn’t mean that the international fun has to stop!
Global Young Professionals’ first-ever Pickleball Tournament – UN theme. Players become delegates representing a nation, playing for glory. Forget backroom negotiations. This time, disputes get settled on the court.
Schedule:
6:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Registration, Networking & Open Practice
6:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Opening Remarks & Tournament Rules Briefing
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: The UN Pickleball Tournament
Tournament Quick Overview
- Team Assignments & Rules: Delegates will be placed into 2-player teams. You’ll receive your team assignment and formal format rules by email before the event, with a quick reminder at check-in.
- Equipment: Paddles and balls will be provided for all participants, but you are welcome to bring your own paddle if you prefer!
- Tournament Stages:
- General Assembly (Group Stage): Every team plays four quick, 5-minute timed games in their group. Earn points for wins and ties to climb the standings!
- Security Council (Playoffs): The top 4 teams overall advance to an 11-point single-elimination bracket.
- The Accord (Championship Final): The final two teams battle it out on Court 1 for the World Peace Cup.
- Resolution Cards: Drawn before every match to set the scene, introducing unique diplomatic scenarios and fun gameplay twists for that game!
- Food & Refreshments: Complimentary soft beverages and water will be available to keep delegates hydrated. Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase on-site.
- Dress Code & Footwear: Athletic wear or athletic diplomatic attire. Non-marking court shoes or sneakers are required (no sandals, boots, or dress shoes allowed on the court).
