Michaela van Schalkwyk

Biography

Michaela is Vice President of Change Management at Baker Hughes and is based in Houston. Her responsibilities include developing a Change Management capability across Baker Hughes to effectively equip leaders to manage Baker Hughes’ transformation; engaging employees to understand & adopt strategic changes; and embedding changes to realize value for Baker Hughes.

Prior to joining Baker Hughes, Michaela led the Organizational Change Management (OCM) function for Marathon Oil based in Houston. Previously, Michaela held various consulting roles in Accenture (Singapore and Malaysia) and EY (Dubai, UAE) focused on leading large-scale, global transformation programs, for various organizations, across diverse industries including energy; mining; and retail.

Michaela graduated from Rhodes University in South Africa with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Management and Information Systems.

Michaela loves to travel with her husband, Charles, and two children, Zara-Rehn (14 years old) and Jasper (11 years old). Michaela is passionate about supporting education themed philanthropic activities.
