2024 Academic WorldQuest
This year’s competition will take place on February 22nd, 2024, here in Houston at the Julia Ideson Library!
We will have special appearances from industry leaders and representatives from the consulates of the United Kingdom, France, South Korea and Indonesia.
The winning team will receive a travel scholarship to Washington D.C. to compete on behalf of Houston at the National Academic WorldQuest Competition in April.
This year, the competition will cover a variety of unique, exciting global focused topics! The main way to prepare for these topics is through the Official Academic WorldQuest. The study guide release will be dropping soon, but first we are excited to unveil topics for this year’s competition.

The World Affairs Councils of America’s AWQ Official Study Guide is the primary resource to help students and teachers prepare for the topics covered in the timed question-and-answer AWQ competitions hosted by local Councils.
Preparing the next generation of leaders, scholars, and decision-makers to thrive in a complex and rapidly changing world – where our national interests are intertwined with the global community – is one of the greatest challenges facing our country.
