“Traces of Us” is a live multidisciplinary online art experience, hosted by Chris Johnson, that reflects upon how we maintain the positive connections in our lives as our modern virtual avatars.

This event is presented by Creative Minds Collaborative.

“Traces of Us” is inspired by the form and content of the poem Contact Tracing by Jacqui Sutton and will begin with a live reading of the poem by the poet herself.  From the unique perspective of their own homes, Nao Kusuzaki, Creative Minds Collaborative Artistic Director, will perform alongside Houston Ballet principal dancers, Chun Wai Chun and Karina Gonzalez in a self choreographed perspective of “Traces of Us” . Patrick Moore, of the Houston based Axiom Quartet, will augment their dance with solo virtuoso cello pieces by Bach, Saint-Saens, and Handel.  In addition, several new pieces have been commissioned by the Houston based composer Karl Blench. The new works of Karl Blench will take the musical ideas from the older works on the program to mirror the idea of contact tracing musically.

With their international cast of dancers – Nao Kusuzaki, Japan; Chun Wai Chan, China; and Karina Gonzalez , Venezuela – Creative Minds Collaborative is excited to reach global audience by offering multiple showings to accommodate for different time zones.
