Dr. László Szabó

Dr. László Szabó was appointed as the Hungarian Ambassador to the US in 2017. Prior to this posting Ambassador Szabó served as deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Hungary from 2014-2017. Before his work in the Foreign Ministry, he served as CEO of the Teva Hungary Ltd. Pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Deputy Chief of Mission Pawel Kotowski

Deputy Chief of Mission Pawel Kotowski assumed his post at the Embassy of Poland in Washington D.C. in March 2017. Previously, he served at the Department of Foreign Policy Strategy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. His portfolio includes transatlantic relations, European and tran-Atlantic security, U.S. foreign policy and energy security. Mr. Kotowski has served in various positions at the Poland diplomatic mission in Washington D.C. since 2000 and is fluent in English, French and Polish.

Ambassador Hynek Kmoníček

Ambassador Hynek Kmoníček became the Czech-Republic’s ambassador to the US in 2017. Before this appointment Ambassador Kmoníček worked as the Director of the Foreign Affairs Department in the Office of the President of the Czech Republic. Before joining the foreign service in 1995, the Ambassador studied English and Arabic Language Studies at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, and Modern History of the Middle East and Hebrew and Arabic Languages Studies at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. Ambassador Kmonicek is also the current Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Jamaica and Antigua Barbuda.

Ambassador Ivan Korčok

Ambassador Ivan Korčok has been the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Washington since September 2018. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs from August 2015. Between May and December 2016, he served as Government Plenipotentiary for the Slovak Presidency in the Council of the EU. Prior to these assignments, he was assigned the post of Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the EU (2009-2015) and Slovak Ambassador to Germany (2005-2009). Ambassador Korčok began his career in 1992 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he held many senior positions including Director of the Department for Policy Planning and Analysis (1997-1998), Director General of the Directorate General for International Organizations and Security Policy (2001-2002), and the State Secretary (2002-2004). In 2003, he was Head of Delegation of the Slovak Republic on Accession Talks to NATO and Member of the European Convention in Brussels.
