Immigration and its implications have risen to the forefront of social, political and economic deliberation around the world. In the U.S., it has been a driving factor in both local and national politics, as highlighted by the uncertain future of the over 700,000 ‘Dreamers’ following President Trump’s decision to end DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). The contested policy afforded a degree of protection against deportation for undocumented individuals who were brought as children to the U.S. by their parents prior to June 2007.
