Global Connections is a business networking opportunity for our members and any career professionals in the Greater Houston area, who are interested in furthering their understanding of international events and issues as well as expanding their global connections.

Global Connections events are informal and emphasize discussion and dialogue in a community of like-minded career professionals. As a global city, Houston is the ideal location to develop international contacts and network with other professionals across the region.

About the speaker

Abby Rapoport is the Publisher and Co-Founder of Stranger’s Guide, an award-winning publication dedicated to place-based writing from storytellers around the world. Abby spent the first portion of her career as a political reporter, serving as a staff writer for the Texas Tribune, the Texas Observer and then The American Prospect. Her work has also appeared in Glamour, The National Journal and The New Republic. Prior to founding Stranger’s Guide, she served as Acting Publisher for the Texas Observer. She currently chairs the Texas Democracy Foundation and Shalom Austin and sits on the boards of the Austin ADL and the Texas Freedom of Information Foundation.
