We are also exposed to more opportunities. Whether you aspire to start your own ventures or advice your corporate career, entrepreneurial spirit is the key to success because it is what drives innovation and growth.

In this session, we will discuss the why, what, and how of entrepreneurial spirit, mindset, and skillset in corporate innovation as well as startup development. We will also reveal:

1. findings about the diversity of startup founders,
2. the latest models of creating and funding startups, and
3. resources and references to help you get ready.

About the Speaker

Fascinated by how people and technology interact in shaping the world’s future, Dr. Sunny Zhang spent the past 20 years focusing on innovation adoption, digital marketing, social networks, and international business as a researcher, educator, and entrepreneur. She is a marketing professor at the University of St. Thomas and the founder and president of Z LAB, partnering with corporate and individual innovators to build and grow digital platforms. Dr. Zhang enjoys collaborating with various stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including startups, corporates, universities, and governments, and connecting otherwise disconnected networks among the global innovation community.

Dr. Zhang obtained her Ph.D. in Marketing with a minor in Social Psychology and her Master of Business from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University in Bloomington, and her M.S. in Applied Psychology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. She has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in marketing, management, entrepreneurship, and e-business for 16 years and received multiple awards for her unique approach to project-based learning with local and international businesses and nonprofits.
