Sean Spicer is an American political aide who served as the 28th White House Press Secretary and Communications Director under the Trump administration from 2016 to 2017. Following his tenure at the White House, Spicer authored the nationally best-selling book The Briefing: Politics, the Press, and the President, chronicling his duties at the White House. Most recently, Spicer made a debut on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Prior to joining the United States Navy Reserve in 1999, in which he holds the rank of commander, Spicer began his career of political involvement through campaign work under state representatives. Beginning in 2000, Spicer held various government postings directing communications and assisting media and public outreach for numerous governmental bodies, including the House Budget Committee, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and more. From 2009 to 2011, Spicer was a partner at Endeavor Global Strategies, a firm that represented foreign governments and corporations before the U.S. government. In 2011, Spicer assumed the position of communications director for the Republican National Committee and was given an additional role as chief strategist for the party in 2015.

Sean Spicer attended Connecticut College and graduated with a B.A. in Government. He followed this degree with an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He and his wife, Rebecca, have two children and call Virginia home.
