The Global Scholars Academy is Houston’s premiere foreign affairs experience designed for high school students who want to explore a world of possibilities and are interested in world affairs, international business, diplomacy, and more
At Global Scholars Academy, we are committed to preparing students for success in a globalized world. Our curriculum varies from international law and foreign policy to economic development and sustainability. Students will be challenged to think critically about the nuance of global affairs while preparing themselves to be informed global citizens.
In 2024, Global Scholars Academy will include some new and exciting curricula. In diplomatic crisis simulations, students will represent international actors and practice diplomacy to solve real-world issues. The Academy will also include exciting presentations and conversations with diplomats, academics, and industry leaders – luminaries who students do not typically have access to. With a curriculum aimed at global awareness and international career pathways, there is nothing else like Global Scholars Academy in Houston.
Global Scholars Academy is summer fun with a global twist!
Students form the Global Scholars Academy 2023
The Global Scholars Academy will be offered in four individual in-person sessions in June, July, and August. These sessions will take place across the Houston Area to best accommodate participants’ and parents’ travel. The program will take place Monday through Friday of each given session date.
Summer 2024 Session Dates
Session 1: June 24 – 28 (The Woodlands)
Session 2: July 8 – 12 (Houston)
Session 3: July 22 – 26 (Houston)
Session 4: July 29 – August 2 (West Houston)
All sessions of the Global Scholars Academy take place Monday through Friday the week of the session. All days of the sessions begin at 9:00 AM and end at 2:30 PM.
| What To Expect
Days at the Academy will be spent developing participants’ global consciousness, building interpersonal and oral presentation skills, and fostering a deeper understanding of global issues affecting society.
We will do this by curating student led dialogue with global oriented professionals, offering group immersive education activities, posing critical thinking challenges about the nuance of global affairs, and introducing cultural and social standards for citizens around the globe.
Throughout the week, you’ll have the opportunity to explore subject areas such as:
