The World Affairs Council’s Education Department is proud to recognize student leaders who actively participate in bettering their communities and broadening their global perspective. To earn a Global Leadership Certificate, SWAC students must be in good standing with their school, plus participate in four of the five following SWAC programs:

• Attend at least 3-4 SWAC events and submit to your Chapter Advisor a review of each event (Typed in Times New Roman, 12 point font, double spaced).

• Participate in a 15 – 20 hour service project

• Participate in Academic WorldQuest

• Member of your SWAC chapter for at least one semester

Sponsors are responsible for tracking and submitting names by the end of April to be sent the personalized certificates. Each SWAC Chapter may also have their own personal requirements decided by your Chapter Advisor, these requirements will also be taken into account when considering a student’s eligibility for the Global Leadership Certificate.

*Students are eligible to replace a maximum of one category with increased attendance at SWAC events. E.G., if a student cannot attend Academic WorldQuest, they can replace that category by instead attending an additional 3 SWAC events.

SWAC students that meet minimum participation requirements will now be able to earn a Global Leadership Certificate from the Council in May. Senior SWAC students may also be eligible to receive a graduation cord if they meet these requirements.

It is the responsibility of the student and of the Chapter Advisor to track and submit which programs were fulfilled by the student.

The priority deadline to receive a Global Scholar Certificate and graduation cord will be May 1, 2020 by 5:00 p.m. The final deadline is May 8, 2020 by 5:00 p.m.
